Stefan Jansen Université du Rwanda

Associate Researcher

Stefan Jansen is an Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Rwanda - College of Medicine and Health Sciences (UR-CMHS). He is the current and Director for the Center of Research and Innovation (CRI), Head of the Mental Health & Behaviour (MHB) Research Group, member of the Rwanda National Research Ethics Committee, and Chief Editor of the Rwanda Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences (RJMHS), among other responsibilities. Prof. Jansen has served as Principal Investigator (PI) for over 20 projects, including 6 clinical trials, including multi-country studies employing neuroimaging, genetics/epigenetics, and psychometrics to study intergenerational trauma, alcohol & drug use, mental health for HIV affected youth, and community-based psychosocial interventions. As PI, Prof Jansen's responsibilities have included complex grant management, scientific oversight, and multi-stakeholder coordination, among other critical roles.
