Jacques Batenga

Jacques BATENGA is a Project Coordinator for Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence at HEAL Africa in North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). A clinical psychologist by training from the University of Kisangani in the DRC since 2009, he obtained his accreditation in 2016, which earned him the title of NET (Narrative Exposure Therapy) Supervisor Counselor from VIVO International.

Jacques BATENGA provides technical assistance to the National Mental Health Program/Ministry of Public Health, North Kivu Coordination, a position he holds while alternating with teaching and research at the University of Goma, with the aim of promoting the integration of mental health care into primary health care. He has contributed to the implementation and evaluation of the national mental health and psychosocial care policy in North Kivu province.

Jacques BATENGA is a CBT specialist psychotherapist for the treatment of major depression and regularly supports the Provincial Health Divisions of North Kivu, South Kivu, Maniema, and Ituri in evaluating mental health and psychosocial care interventions, training, and supervising health care providers
